ART TREK - Join us for Art Trek, open studio tours Mondays to Wednesdays from 10am 4pm, June to September. Participating Galleries and Studios include Cherryville Artisans' Shop, Gallery & Marketplace where demonstrations on Monday include Potter, Greg Baker and artist, Debbee Baker utilizing the delightful setting in the grounds outdoors for a day of sculpting in clay.
Coyote Creek Art Village and Rendezvous Camp is the studio of sculptor and painter Don Elzer, visitors can view his Studio Gallery, see paintings and sculpture in progress and take a self-guided walking tour of the 20 acre Sculpture Trail in the forest and Nature Walk.
The Landslide Studio Gallery is located in a pristine location on River Road. The studio of Larry MacGregor on the north side of the Shuswap River will give visitors a view of a working studio and a variety of art in progress that includes pottery and clay murals. There are demonstrations in throwing, pit-firing, and sculpting using stoneware and local clays.
Primitive Spirit & Form Workshop - Coyote Creek Art Village and Rendezvous Camp
Learn how to make clay sculpture, and have something special for your home by the end of the day. This drop-in workshop happens every Monday. Choose a full day or half-day workshop and work with an artist to learn the basics of building forms in clay. A great daytrip from the campground. Bring good footwear. Primitive Skills Demonstration & Workshop
At Coyote Creek Art Village & Rendezvous Camp, every Tuesday, make art you wear and explore primitive skills like clay jewelry making, pinch pots. Experience the primitive firing of clay. This drop-in workshop includes an interpretive hike and storytelling, plus many other surprises. Call 547-9812
Gold Quest & Legends at Coyote Creek Art Village & Rendezvous Camp
Every Tuesday, learn from a real gold prospector how to pan for gold, where to look to find pay dirt. This is a Gold panning Seminar where you actually find gold! This workshop also includes storytelling in a Tipi, learn about the Sasquatch, ancient legends and mysteries. A great learning experience for the kids, great fun for the whole family. Every Tuesday,Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at noon, this tour departs from the Spruce Grove Café and includes a Monashee Mountain Goldminers guided walking tour and demonstration performance along the historic Kettle River with dinner included. Subject to run-off conditions this self-guided tour happens from June 11th to September 5th. Participants meet the guide at the Spruce Grove Café near the Monashee Summit on Highway 6 at 12noon. You will proceed following the tour guide on a 5-minute drive to Kettle River. This is a 6-hour rustic adventure experience, participants are asked to pack a lunch. Rain Forest to Pine Forest Nature Walk at Cozy Cabins
Every Wednesday, Cozy Cabins on Creighton Valley Road offers a guided walk in the forest through a variety of eco-sytems from wetlands to one of two spectacular view points in the area. The hike is 2 to 3 hours long and a medium challenge. It leaves 10am every Wednesday from June to October. Call 547-6201 for bookings or information.
